Andrea & Paul III

A while back I posted a short video clip from Andrea & Paul’s June wedding that was shot by the amazing FortyOneTwenty. If you haven’t already seen that – you can check it out HERE… I promise, you won’t be disappointed! We were also lucky enough to work with San Diego Wedding Photographers – Betwixt Studio who did such a beautiful job of capturing the special moments of the day in still shots. They have very generously shared the photos with us… and I’m sooooo excited to share them with you! Continue reading

Chris & Kristi

My final wedding of 2010 took place in one of my favorite locations – the Temecula wine country. You can’t go wrong with the beautiful vineyards and romantic atmosphere! This wedding was also special because I have known Kristi since she was about 10 years old. It was so much fun to be able to share this experience with her and her family, and see how she has grown into such a beautiful young woman. I’m beyond excited for her and Chris, and all that their future holds! Continue reading

Diana & Chase

Diana and Chase got married on May 29th, 2010 in beautiful La Jolla, CA. They chose the La Jolla Cove Suites rooftop as the setting for their event – and oh my goodness – there could not be a more beautiful backdrop for the occasion. Many of their guests were traveling in from across the states, so what better way to show them California’s true beauty than by hosting an event overlooking the ocean, sand and cliffs!

Chase is currently in the Marine Corps, and both of them wanted to make sure that this was reflected in their event. From their military uniforms, to the awesome sword arch at the end of the ceremony, to the beautiful grooms cake decorated with the Marine Corps seal. It was all so special and heartfelt – and the day was so beautiful! Thank you both for letting me share in your day, and thank you to Ann Sumi Photography for the wonderful photos!

DIY Fabric Pom-Poms

I was recently browsing some of my favorite wedding blogs, and came across a gorgeous wedding with antique charm photographed by Clayton Austin. Love. Stories. It was obvious that the bride was very crafty, because the wedding was filled with personalized touches. My favorite item of all were the fabric pom-poms she created. In lieu of flowers for bouquets, boutonnieres and ceremony aisle decorations she used these beautifully crafted fabric pom-poms. What a brilliant (and stunning!) way to save money on décor! Once Wed features a great tutorial on how to make these pom-poms yourself, just click here!

Katie & Joe

Katie & Joe were such a fun couple to work with! I remember getting the first phone call from Joe as they were searching for wedding coordinator. He wanted to make sure they found a coordinator who would be amazing… because this was the one task his bride had put him in charge of, and he didn’t want to let her down! So cute! Well I hope I was able to help Joe accomplish this task, all while making their wedding day stress & worry free! This couple tied the knot on April 17, 2010 at Harbor Christian Church in Newport, CA, followed by a beautiful reception at the Harborside Pavilion on the Balboa Peninsula. I hope you enjoy these photos, courtesy of Taylored Image. Continue reading

Brides Against Breast Cancer

For those of you still searching for that perfect wedding dress… this would be a wonderful place to shop! The Marriott in La Jolla, CA is hosting this years “Brides Against Breast Cancer”, where brides are able to search through hundreds of new & used wedding gowns at a remarkably low price. The gowns have been donated by individuals, manufactures, bridal boutiques, and the designers themselves. The purpose of the donation is not only to provide you the opportunity to find the gown of your dreams at a cost savings… but more importantly, the proceeds of your purchase will go towards making the dreams & wishes come true of those who are currently in stage four of breast cancer. The program has received over 50,000 donated gowns since inception! What an amazing gift to be able to give someone.

This year’s San Diego event is taking place the weekend of August 26th – 28th, and the times are as follows:
Friday, August 26th – 12:00pm – 8:00pm
Saturday, August 27th – 10:00am – 8:00pm
Sunday, August 28th – 8:00am – 2:00pm

The first hour of each day is considered “power hour”. You can purchase “power hour” tickets HERE for $20, which allow you access to the gowns before the general public. The remaining time each day is open to the general public for free! If you are interested in donating your personal wedding gown, please visit www.bridesagainstbreastcancer.org for more information. If you have previously (or plan to this year) take part in this event, I would love to hear about your experience! Please email me or comment below. Have a wonderful week!
